Our highest quality ceremonial grade organic Matcha tea. One of the most popular and beloved teas around the world. It is from the Okumidori Cultivar providing a rich and smooth flavor. It also offers a mellow taste and creamy texture. Sipping a brewed Washimine Matcha will give slight hints of sweetness and gentle umami to leave you enjoying the rest of your day. It can be enjoyed hot or cold with your choice of milk or traditionally brewed with water.

We recommend that the Washimine Matcha is used as pure Matcha mixed with water (Usucha) due to its superior quality. Nonetheless, Washimine is also suitable for high end Matcha lattes.

How Matcha is Made:

Like the process of Gyokuro, tea leaves are first shaded before harvest, however, it is later steamed and dried in high temperatures without rolling. Later, hard parts are seperated from the tea leaves where the leaves are ground using a tea mill creating the drink that we all love "Matcha".
